A Dove Hunters Encounter

Through the tall Cedars, the forests on high.

I saw a white dove look down from the sky.

I raised my weapon high in the air.

The dove cooooo'd softly as though I were not there.

The dove spread his wings, and then a halo of light.

My rifle then fired, and the day became as night.

For three short moments, it lay on the ground.

Then it rose again, its life new and found.

Then I knew that I had been blessed to see.

The ancient one of eternity.

The dove took flight, and as it flew away.

A small still voice declared, I'll be back someday.

Run baby run, as fast as you can.

Let the spirit of good dreams take your hand.

As a misty veil covers your eyes.

The world takes on a disguise.

You dream of gold and silver and great shiny pearls.

Of conquering strange and far away worlds.

Of love and romance, hear the church bell sing.

Then a handsome man gives you a gold ring.

You dream of the world as it should be.

Then the real gives way to reality.

All of a sudden life is real again.

As you hear the alarm clocks clanging din.

You wish that you could go back to sleep.

To dream of a world so magic and sweet.

Oh.. if only to dream.

Marks Upon The Wall

Marks Upon The Wall

There is an older lady
On the other side of town.
The outside of her house is pretty.
The inside is run down.
I wanted to hire a painter.
Momma would not hear of it at all
Nobody is painting over,
Momma's marks upon the wall.

It is the little imperfections,
that make a house a home.
Momma kept the house up,
when the children left to roam.
Some thought Momma crazy
She would not paint at all.
Nobody is painting over,
Mommas marks upon the wall.

There is the spot where little brother,
Marked his hight upon the wall.
He grew into a man,
Proud, strong and tall.
The spot where little sister,
played with lipstick most of all.
Momma's catalogue of memories
Are the marks upon the wall.

Now Momma is another spirit
That the Good Lords arms have found.
The Angels came and got her,
The family gathered around.
Among my kin and cousins.
Was the strangest thing of all.
It was written "Momma Loves Her Babies"
In the marks upon the wall

A Loving Man

A Loving Man, Not too tough to feel.
Is Like a brillient Gem, in a stoney field.

With a tender way, and a warm soft smile.
That will last a lot longer than a short while.

A Loving Man, who can understand. Is like a rose, in the desert sand.

With great courage, and wise foresight. He can lead one through, the darkest night.

Will I find him. Only time will tell, but if I do, I'll love him well.
